A friend purchased a new notebook and wanted Microsoft Access. He enlisted a seller on E-Bay to deliver a fresh retail copy of Office Professional for the great price of $150. However, the serial number sticker doesn’t look quite right - it has a fold down the center. Insert the CD, run through the installation and all appears OK until it’s time for activation.
Up comes a dialog with Chinese characters! Click what appears to be the OK button and we’re taken to a Microsoft piracy site suggesting we purchase Office directly from them.
Well, so much for the great deal. Even if the software activated properly, who knows what crud had been placed in the bits on the disk? No thanks.
